Our community cares. The Mount Prospect and neighboring communities offer several resources for those who might need help or who are in a position to help others in the community with monetary donations or donations of nonperishable food, household, and hygiene supplies.  

For those that need help, navigating local food pantries and other social services can be challenging. The Mount Prospect Human Services Department can help guide residents through the various services offered by other agencies.  

The Mount Prospect Food Pantry, organized by the Mount Prospect Human Services Department, provides help to individuals and families with children living in Mount Prospect who need assistance at any time of year. A financial assessment is required once every six months. Residents who qualify are eligible to access the Food Pantry once a month. Residents must first contact the Human Services Department at 847-870-5680 to schedule a financial assessment appointment.

For those that wish to help, most food pantries welcome donations of nonperishable food as well as monetary donations. If you are able, monetary donations can be more effective, as food panties are often able to purchase food and supplies at a lower price. Please contact individual food pantries for more information.
