Analog Conversions Now Available
The MPPL Digital Creative Workstation now includes audio equipment to transfer analog recordings to CDs or digital file formats using our Mac Studio computers.

New Trustee Announcement
The Mount Prospect Public Library (MPPL) announces the appointment of Andrea Shaeffer to its Board of Trustees. The Board appointed Shaeffer to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Rosemary Groenwald. The term runs until the next Consolidated Election in April 2027.

Free Printing and Copying
Free printing and copying credits added to Mount Prospect Public Library accounts reset annually. As of January 1, cardholders in good standing will have credits for 200 pages of black and white printing and copying, or 80 pages of color printing and copying, or a combination of black and white and color.

Our Catalog is Growing!
During the upgrade process, our catalog will have limited functionality from August 29 through September 2, 2025. Full functionality is expected to be restored on September 3.

The Write Stuff
This summer, the library is excited to launch a new writers’ group that will meet on the third Monday of each month. Writers of all genres are invited to bring current writing projects for thoughtful support and constructive critique. Each session will start with a short writing exercise, followed by a discussion on current progress and reflections on work submitted in the previous session.

New Catalog
The Mount Prospect Public Library has joined CCS (Cooperative Computer Services), a group of over 30 area libraries that share an online catalog! You can find more information and Frequently Asked Questions on our Updates page.

Library Services Potentially Impacted by Federal Funding Cuts
The Illinois statewide library delivery program faces possible challenges due to Executive Order 14238 that seeks to eliminate the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). Since the executive order was issued, many grants and contracts have been terminated and agency employees have been placed on administrative leave.
