Circulation Supervisor – Circulation Services Department

Our Circulation Department is looking to fill a newly created position.  The Circulation Supervisor will assist the Department Head and Assistant Department Head by managing daily workflow in the department and assisting with the achievement of departmental goals and objectives.  This position will be responsible for supervising part-time staff and participate in recruitment and training activities in addition to evaluating work performance.  The Circulation Supervisor will also be a point-person in resolving patron issues and interpreting related department/library policies for staff.

Qualified individuals will possess knowledge of circulation responsibilities, excellent communication and customer service skills.  Bachelor’s degree required (or equivalent work experience).  Previous supervisory experience is desirable.  Bilingual skills are also desirable but not required.

This non-exempt position offers $19.10/hour with insurance benefits, paid time off and retirement (IMRF) benefits.

South Branch Manager

Are you a natural leader with a passion for providing high-quality service and outreach to a diverse community? Mount Prospect Public Library (Illinois) has a unique and exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to manage our South Branch, which serves as a hub of the vibrant and diverse community on the south side of town. 

Our perfect candidate will be bilingual (Spanish or Polish preferred) and will have community outreach experience and demonstrated leadership skills. We’re looking for a positive, personable leader with an inclusive mindset who is an excellent communicator and practices and promotes collaborative behavior. 

As South Branch manager, you will spend your time managing and supervising a dedicated staff; assisting a diverse range of patrons with books, technology, and other library resources; planning library programs and events; connecting with the community to bring library services through outreach; and forging connections with partner organizations. You will use your organizational skills, resourcefulness, and energy to provide service and make a real difference to the people of Mount Prospect. 

Schedule is 37.5 hours per week, includes evening and weekend hours. Additional evening or weekend hours may be required to perform programming/outreach activities. 

Requirements: Experience in a public service position with demonstrated supervision and management skills. Bi/multilingual fluency in English and other languages. Community outreach experience. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Public library experience preferred.  Knowledge of South Branch area community preferred.  

Annual salary will commensurate with experience (minimum of $53,000/year)Excellent benefits including generous paid time off and IMRF retirement savings.

Full time Computer Technician – IT Services

Full time Computer Technician in IT Services position available. Duties include installation, maintenance and minor repair of all computers and their peripherals. Performs on-call computer help-desk duties for staff and patrons. Requires thorough knowledge of Windows, standard office and Internet application software. Excellent communication skills, HS diploma required. College/technical training computer science highly desirable. The position offers $36,700 annual pay with health insurance, paid time off and retirement (IMRF) benefits.
