Content Coordinator

Full time position
37.5 hours per week average

Come and help us tell our story! The Mount Prospect Public Library seeks a Content Coordinator to join the Communications and Creative Services Department. We love sharing our passion for libraries with our community, are you able to assist us in continuing to achieve our goals? Work closely with our communications team and play a key role in scheduling, facilitating, and posting content to our marketing and social media channels. We need a team player that loves libraries, keeps on top of current trends and popular culture, connects and communicates easily with all levels within our organization, and is proficient in project management, social media, and technology. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, innovative, and has a strong attention to detail. This position reports to the Communications and Creative Services Department Head.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience. 3-5 years’ experience managing a corporate, government, or non-profit social media presence. Highly computer literate. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite preferred. Hands on experience and proficiency with popular content management/project management systems such as Airtable, WordPress and HootSuite.

SALARY: $42,000 to $50,000 per year (The final offer may be within this range based on competencies, experience, and internal equity)

Technology Assistant

Part time position
24 hours per week average

Do you love learning about the latest technologies, apps and devices? Do you enjoy working with the public?

Mount Prospect Public Library is searching for a tech-savvy, customer-service oriented individual to join our Research Services desk staff. This position will be responsible for providing a wide range of service to our patron community including ready reference, and assistance with computers/library equipment/personal devices. In addition, the successful candidate will assist with technology programming, 3D printing and digital media equipment.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (or the equivalent education and work experience) required. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop especially) and Apple computers/devices preferred. The flexibility to work additional hours to assist with patron programs would be appreciated.

SALARY: $16.96 PER HOUR

Schedule (approximately 24 hours including weekend rotation):
Monday, Tuesday, and Friday 1 pm to 5 pm

Readers’ Advisor/Fiction Selector

Part time position

If your Goodreads account is filled with reads and to-reads for nearly every mood, the Fiction-AV-Teen Department of the Mount Prospect Public Library has an opportunity for you. We’re looking for a new part-time Readers’ Advisor who has excellent customer service skills and is energized by talking to people about books. ​You’ll join an expert and enthusiastic team, staff a popular materials desk serving adults and teens, select books for adult fiction and large-print collections, lead Library book discussions, and promote collections through lists and displays.

QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will be friendly, detail-oriented, adaptable, and tech-savvy. Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of two years public service experience with popular materials required.

SALARY: $18 – $18.50 per hour

Building Maintenance Supervisor

Full time position
37.5 hours a week

This newly created position is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, housekeeping, and safety of the library facilities.  Under the guidance of the Director of Facilities and Security, this individual will assign and monitor the daily work of the building services staff.  This supervisor will collaborate with the team and assists in creating a safe and welcoming environment.  If needed, we will train you to be an effective and motivating supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma is required (and/or the equivalent education and work experience). Technical/mechanical training and/or comparable experience.  Three (or more) years demonstrated work experience in maintenance.  Supervisory experience a plus.  Must have a valid driver’s license and a favorable motor vehicle report.

SALARY: $42,500 to $53,000 (The final offer may be within this range based on competencies, experience, and internal equity)

Building Maintenance Supervisor FINAL 9 2021

Page/Shelver – Collection and Bibliographic Services

Part time position
Hours: 12 average per week

Do you have mad organizational skills? Love things always being neat and orderly? Always on the move? Adaptable enough to jump from project to another? The Mount Prospect Public Library has an opportunity for you. In this position, you will be responsible for shelving materials, shelf reading, sorting and putting carts in order, and doing projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Required to pass a skills exercise on alphabetical and numerical arrangement of library materials. High school diploma or student.

SALARY: $11 – $12 per hour

Other benefits:   Our general part-time staff are eligible for paid holidays and a paid “birthday” holiday.

SCHEDULE (average of 12 hours per week):
Monday, Wednesday and Thursday   9 am to 1 pm
