LIBRARY CLOSED: The Main and South Branches of the Library will be closed Monday (Sept. 6). Although the buildings are closed, you still have 24/7 access to register for upcoming programs, conduct research with our online resources, and renew items and place holds at www.mppl.org. Check out an eBook or audiobook through OverDrive at any time. The Main Branch will reopen at 9 a.m. on Tuesday (Sept. 7). The South Branch will reopen at 11 a.m. on Tuesday (Sept. 7).

CONVERSATIONS IN ENGLISH: If you are learning English, join a virtual group to practice your skills with native English speakers on Friday (Sept. 3) from 1 – 2 p.m. The class is free, but registration is required by calling 847/506-4930. This program is available to Mount Prospect or Elk Grove residents.

CRUISE NIGHT: Enjoy Orphans Night on Saturday (Sept. 4) from 3 – 9 p.m. at the Bluesmobile Cruise Night held in the Mount Prospect Metra East Lot at the SE corner of Emerson St. and Northwest Hwy.). Cruisin’ Classics will provide the tunes. Are motorcycles more your style? Take a walk over to the vacant public safety building driveway (112 E. Northwest Hwy.) directly across from the Metra East Lot.

FARMERS’ MARKET: Only a couple of months remain! Visit the Lions Club Farmers’ Market on Sunday (Sept.5) from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the East Commuter Lot (Northwest Hwy. and Emerson St.).basket of vegetables Support local producers and one-of-a-kind vendors by stocking up on fruits, veggies, herbs, flowers, and other goodies. This is also a drop-off location for the Mount Prospect Food Pantry and a collection site for used eyeglasses and hearing aids.

SUMMER SUPPERS: Those in need of a nutritious meal can find one offered by community churches. The free Drive-Thru Community Meals are available from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the following locations this week: Friday (Sept. 3) Christus Victor Lutheran Church (1045 S. Arlington Heights Rd.
