Resiliency

We have all faced a lot of changes in the past few months. Teaching children to be resilient will help them face these challenges successfully. When we read children stories about characters facing their problems and overcoming obstacles, we are helping them to develop the same mindset. Here are some of my favorite picture books about resiliency:

The Dot by Peter Reynolds–Vashti’s teacher helps her understand that a dot is only the beginning to her journey of surprise and self-discovery.

Sometimes I’m Bombaloo by Yumi Heo–We all have bad days, but with a little love and understanding, we can become our better selves again.

Gossie by Olivier Dunrea–When Gossie loses her red boots, she learns that sometimes things don’t go as planned, and that is okay.
