The Mount Prospect Public Library seeks volunteers who can sew new, homemade face masks to share with library patrons and others who need face coverings. We are collecting them in our outside book returns at the Main Library.
If you are feeling healthy and have some time, the library will accept face coverings in adult and youth sizes made of washable fabric with either elastic ear loops or with ties. We particularly need adult face masks using neutral colors if possible. We are not accepting no-sew masks.
• Sew adult or youth size masks using washable fabric with either elastic ear loops or ties. There are many patterns and tips online.
• Place finished masks in a sealed plastic bag.
• Write your name on the bag so we can thank you!
• Drop off your donation at the Main Library and place in an outside book return.
Send us a photo of your mask-making fun; we may share or post it on our MPPL website or social media: Volunteer@mppl.org.
